THE BRIEF: Operation Homefront’s Military Child of the Year® Awards Gala celebrates exceptional military children from across the country. The annual event brings together honorees, military leaders, sponsors, and supporters for an evening that recognizes resilience, leadership, and service. The goal was to create a cohesive visual experience that honored each recipient while elevating the organization’s brand throughout every touchpoint of the event.
THE SOLUTION: I developed the creative direction for the gala, designing a unified visual system that carried through every guest interaction. From stage graphics and environmental signage to printed materials, presentations, web and social assets, and animated podium visuals, each element worked together to create a polished and memorable experience. The designs balanced celebration with professionalism, ensuring the focus remained on the stories of the honorees while reinforcing Operation Homefront’s mission.
THE EVENT EXPERIENCE: Beyond design execution, I collaborated on the overall event environment, helping shape table settings and venue aesthetics to create a cohesive guest experience. I also managed creative production by hiring and directing photographers and videographers, overseeing interviews, and ensuring final assets were delivered for both immediate event coverage and future marketing efforts. This holistic approach created a consistent brand presence throughout the Ritz-Carlton while producing a library of high-quality content that continues to support the organization beyond the event itself.
